followed by the AA boys, AAA girls, and AAAA boys. The Championships will
conclude on Saturday with the AAAA girls’ game at Noon followed by the AAA
boys, 5A girls, and 6A boys.
ITEM 8 A
discussion was held regarding the proposed change in the process of assigning
officials for the various district championships throughout the year. Through
this year’s championships, assignments have been based on a geographical factor
determined by the teams participating in the game. The committee was asked to
consider the recommendation of the current assignors and remove the
geographical factor and allow the assignors for district tournament games in
all sports the freedom to assign what they consider to be the best officials
for that contest regardless of their league affiliation. Following discussion
a motion was made by Pat Patte, seconded by Mark Rinaldi, to allow the
assignors to select tournament officials free of the geographical factor and to
place what they consider to be the best available officials for that contest in
the game. 9 Ayes, 3 Nays
