meeting will begin promptly at
6:30 PM. AAA –
AA will be seeded in separate rooms,
and will be based on the point system. We will seed the
top 8 wrestlers and the rest will be randomly drawn into
the bracket.

WEIGHT CLASS TO THE SEEDING MEETING.
Point totals for Prestige and Competition categories
should only be for PIAA Tournament series places that were actually
wrestled. There are no points
awarded for 5th or 6th place finishes unless they are
actually wrestled!
For Regional Champions for this year (2010), the seeding
points heading to regionals will be adjusted accordingly if one of our
champions had previously been a
regional consolation semi-finalist.

National Prep School Place=1/2 State points
State Prep School Place=1/2 Regional Points
Conference Prep School Tourn.=1/2 District Points
NY State Championships=1/2 State Points
NY Section Championships=1/2 Regional Points
NY Class Championships=1/2 District Points
Matches wrestled after 2/19/09- the matches must be
recorded and anyone weighing above optimum weights may not be able to get
back to where they want to be for Districts. Matches
wrestled after 2/19/10 can negatively impact your weight loss plan!!!! BE CAREFUL WITH THESE MATCHES!!!

Seeding Criteria
2009-10
Seeding will
be based upon 3 separate areas: winning percentage, prestige points, and
competition points.
#1 PERCENTAGE RECORD – Based on total won/loss record (wins divided by the
total # of matches wrestled) Must be a 12 bout minimum to get the full
total. Subtract 10 points for each
match under the 12 bout minimum.
Ex. 17-5 17/22
= .772 Total
Points 77
5-9 5/14 = .357 Total
Points 36
10-8 10/18 = .555 Total
Points 56
9-1 9/10 = .900 Total

– 20 = 70
#2 PRESTIGE POINTS – Points earned for having previously placed in the
district, regional or state tournament. Points are from the previous year ONLY.
Wrestler must take the highest place finish points ONLY! Ex. District 1st, Regional 4th
- wrestler has 90 pts.

#3 COMPETITION POINTS – Points awarded for wrestling last season’s place
winners during this year’s dual meet and tournament bouts. Wrestler
receives 50% of an opponent’s prestige points for a win & 10% of his
prestige points for a loss.
